The Ottawa Hospital Opseu Collective Agreement

Medical laboratories do important work in 16 hospitals within the Local Champlain Health Insurance Network (NHS). Protective officers are on duty on all three campuses of the Ottawa Hospital. On April 1, 2012, our members moved to the Association of Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratories (EORLA), an integrated hospital laboratory organization that brings together 18 laboratories within the LHIN, from Deep River in the north to Barry`s Bay in the west and Cornwall in the east. The primary responsibility of the territorial community is to negotiate a collective agreement on behalf of our members and to manage all disputes arising from the management of the collective agreement between the members and the hospital. We have a large team of labour relations specialists through OPSEU headquarters and many volunteers from different professional professions who work with members to resolve issues and disputes. Public meeting Thursday, February 28, 2013 19:00-21:00 Southminster United Church 15 Aylmer Ave. (near Colonel By Dr. exit and Bank St.) Ottawa It has been a few months work in our local and here are some highlights followed by some more detailed notes. Our joint safety committees have worked hard to participate in on-site inspections and ensure compliance with safety protocols. In addition, the local negotiated with the college a new memorandum on the definition of “regular” partial load. As of September 9, a contract minister who teaches more than six hours per week and up to twelve hours per week for at least a seven-week period is considered a partial charge.

In addition, we have seen many successes through the Workload Monitoring Group`s management process, and we have welcomed several new full-time teachers in many areas of the college. Our general meeting is scheduled for September as part of an online conference call. As soon as OPSEU gives more direction, we will share more information about this.
